Death of Thomas Russell.

Thomas Russell, eldest son of John and Dorothy Russell, was born in Ontario, Canada, December 27, 1848. He came with his parents, brothers and sisters to Iowa, arriving in May 1863, located on the farm about three miles northeast of Ossian where he resided continually until two years ago. He then sold the farm and one year ago in March he moved to Ossian where he died Monday, June 9th, 1913, at the age of 64 years, 5 months and 12 days, death being due to heart failure.
Funeral services were held yesterday, Rev. Hursh of Castalia officiating, and interment was made in Centennial cemetery, the pall bearers being G. W. Rathbun, Walker DeCou, P. M. Banning, John Murphy, James Phelan and Hiram Daniels. The deceased was a splendid citizen, and good neighbor and strictly honest in every service he rendered. He leaves to mourn his departure two brothers and three sisters, namely; Alex Russell of Fayette, Mrs. B. E. Harding of Prior Lake, Minn,; John Russell of Castalia, Mrs. Ada Bagely and Mrs. Abe Oxley of Ossian.

The funeral of Thos. Russell was held in the Centennial church Wednesday, Rev. Hursh officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.
