OBITUARY.
MRS. WM. H. REED.
After an illness of more than year Mrs. Alma Cratsenberg-Reed passed away Sunday morning last at the home of her sister, Mrs. L. B. Whitney, death being due to Bright’s disease. Mrs. Reed was the elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Cratsenberg. She was born January 25, 1855, in Denmark, N. Y. and moved to Burr Oak, Iowa, with her parents in the spring of 1869. Her education was acquired in the common schools, supplemented by attendance at the Decorah Institute, the Minnesota Normal at Winona, and the Academy of Osage. Subsequently she was a successful teacher in the public schools of Iowa and Minnesota. She was married February 19, 1906, to Wm. H. Reed and in the following June settled at Culbertson, Montana, where they engaged in merchandising. Mr. Reed died June 4, 1911. Mrs. Reed conducted the business until she became ill in March, 1912. She returned to Decorah with her sister, Mrs. Whitney, on June 3rd, 1912, and has since been tenderly cared for at the Whitney home. Beside her sister she is survived by one brother, F. E. Cratsenberg, also of Decorah. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock, Rev. M. Willett officiating, and the remains were taken to Burr Oak for burial

The sad news came to us Sunday morning of the death of Mrs. Alma C. Reed, better known here as Alma Cratsenberg. She died at the home of her sister in Decorah after an illness of over a year. The funeral services will be held at the home of her sister, Mrs. L. R. Whitney, in Decorah on Tuesday afternoon, June 3, and the remains brought to Burr Oak and laid beside those of her father and mother.
