OBITUARY.
MRS. E. K. HOVDEN.
Mrs. E. K. Hovden died at her home in Decorah Tuesday morning, April 29th. The cause of death was diabetes from which she suffered for several weeks.
Mrs. Hovden’s maiden name was Nora Alvilda Gilbertson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Narve Gilbertson. She was born in Madison township, February 14, 1877, and was united in marriage with Mr. Hovden on November 24, 1897. To them three children were born who, with her husband, survive her. Two brothers, Adolph and Gilbert, are living at Camp Cook, S. D., and two half sisters, Mrs. John Vold of Decorah and Mrs. John Nelson of Gary, Minn., also survive her. The funeral will be to-morrow afternoon at 2:30, prayer at the home preceding the service at the Synod Lutheran church. Rev. Torrison will officiate.
Mrs. Hovden was very highly esteemed by her acquaintances, and her friends, whoa are many, mourn her departure. She was a member of the Women’s Relief Corps and also an active worked{sic} in the aid society of the church, of which she was a true and faithful member. Mr. Hovden and his children have the sympathy of the citizens in their bereavement.
