Funeral services for Leonard Orton Iverson, 81, of Decorah, were held Friday, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m.at Decorah Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James Glesne officiating.
Mr. Iverson died Dec. 20 of heart problems at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
Organist was Diane Kvamme. Sensor-French Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements, with burial at the Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tony Larson, Melvin Skaim, Philip Severson, Leonard Severson, Arden Anderson and Floyd Goettelman.
He was born Oct. 23, 1907, in Duel County, South Dakota, the son of Marvin and Caroline (Kjenstad) Iverson. He attended rural schools in the Duel County area, and married the former Anna Rohm May 16, 1947, at Big Canoe Lutheran Church, rural Decorah.
He had lived in Brandt, S.D., and in Decorah, where he was a former cream hauler. He worked for Case Implement, for DVM, and for the Decorah Creamery. He was a member of Decorah Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Anna, two children, Darlyene Iverson of Decorah and Lois Wendlandt of Dassel, Minn.; two grandsons, Eric and Jason Wendlandt; two brothers, Walter Iverson of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Virgil Iverson of Waterloo; and six sisters, Violet Paulson of Clear Lake, S.D., Thelma Sheldahl of Fargo, N.D., Ruth Severson of Decorah, Marie Grauros of San Jose, Calif., Evelyn Ellingson of Yountville, Calif., and Audrey Hanson of Carefree, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Irvin.
