After an illness of about two months Mrs. Ole Remmen passed away to that better home. About two months ago she was stricken with paralysis and has since been subject to agonies of pain. Every aid and comfort that human hands could conduct were practiced to relieve her sufferings, with but little avail, and when death made its entrance there on Thursday afternoon, May 9, it found her a willing pilgrim, calm and fully prepared to journey home. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a kind and friendly neighbor ever ready to lend a helping hand and was always a willing and attentive server in all religious duties. Mrs. Remmen leaves as her survivors her aged husband, a daughter, Bertha, and a son Gilbert. The funeral services took place on Monday afternoon at the Washington Prairie church, conducted by Rev. P. Koren who delivered a very impressive sermon. Many were the beautiful wreaths of flowers, all but early tokens to the memory of the deceased. The writer joins in extending condolence to the afflicted family.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Kari and that she was born Aug. 8, 1832. She is buried in the Washington Prairie Lutheran Cemetery.
