OBITUARY.
MRS. EMOGENE BUCKNELL.
Mrs. Emogene Bucknell died at her home in Canoe township last Thursday, May 16th. She was born in Jefferson county, Wis., the 13th of September, 1845, and came with her parents, David and Jerush Bartlett, to Winneshiek county, Iowa, in 1850, which has been her home ever since. She was married to George Bucknell on June 2, 1869, and is survived by her husband and two sons, Bartlett E. and Walter H. For some years prior to her death Mrs. Bucknell was an invalid, and while thus deprived of the many activities that she would normally have enjoyed, she was a woman of large sympathy and kindness, and her friends have good reason to testify to her thoughtfulness. The funeral was held Monday and interment was made in Phelps cemetery Decorah, Rev. Seehuus officiating.Source: Decorah Republican May 23, 1912 P6 C3
Mrs. George Bucknell who has been in very poor health for several years passed away Thursday, the 16th, at 7 o‘clock. She was laid to rest in the Decorah cemetery Monday of this week. She leaves a husband, two sons and other relatives, besides many friends to mourn her loss. The community sympathizes with them.
