Christopher Wilson was born in Oswego, Oswego county, New York, Dec. 7, 1837. In 1855 he was married to Miss Nancy Borst. He left New York in 1861 to come to Iowa, settling in Frankville, Winneshiek county, living here until his death, which occurred March 17, 1912, at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 10 days. About three years ago he was stricken with creeping paralysis and during the last year was unable to leave his bed or chair without assistance. His wife, who faithfully nursed him through his long illness, a brother, Henry Wilson of Frankville and a sister Mrs. Minerva Murphy of Ossian are left to mourn their loss. In the passing of Mr. Wilson another familiar landmark is removed from Frankville. Those who knew him best testify to his kindheartedness and neighborliness. Rev. Ziegler ministered to his spiritual needs and to him he confessed his faith in Jesus as a personal Savior. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon at 1 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Zeigler, with burial in the village cemetery.
