OBITUARY.
THOMAS RODVANG.
On Saturday evening last at his home in Springfield township, Thomas Rodvang passed away after a short illness, the principal cause of death being blood poison, though this was complicated with pleurisy. How little a thing may cause death was illustrated in this case. About a week or ten days before Mr. Rodvang scratched one of his hands. Little was thought of it, but it soon began to pain hm and he finally called a physician, but it was then too lake. The poison had so permeated his system that recovery was impossible.
Mr. Rodvang was a native son of Springfield, where he was born upward of forty-seven years ago, the son of pioneer parents. In 1888 he was married to Beret Tvenge, who with eight children survive him. Death has laid a heavy hand upon their home recently, for only a few days before the father was taken a little daughter also died.
The funeral services will be held Friday. Prayer at the home of 1:30 will precede the public service, which will be held at the Washington Prairie church.

Last Sunday morning was heard the sad news of the death of Thomas Rovang. He has been ailing from several complicated diseases. Doctors were called and did their best to save his life, but the diseases had taken too great a hold on him, and nothing could be done for him. After only about two weeks’ illness he passed away last Saturday night. It is but a few days since this family followed their daughter and sister Laura to her grave. Now they are called upon again, this time to bring the husband and father to his last retsing{sic} place. Mr. Rovang leaves to mourn his death his wife Berit and his six sons Albert, Paul, Clarence, Bennie, Melvin and Otto, also two daughters, Sophie and Ella. They have the sympathy of the entire community in their great sorrow. Funeral services will be held at 1 o’clock p. m. at the house and 2 o’clock p. m. in the church next Friday, Rev.
