William Hart of Inwood arrived Tuesday to attend the funeral of his mother.

- -
Last Monday morning our little burg was terribly shocked on hearing of the death of Mrs. James Hart of this place. Monday morning she felt in her usual health, did her household work as usual and about eight o’clock was taken sick, but thought it nothing very serious, but Dr. Flynn was called and arrived a little after ten o’clock. He began questioning her as to the history of her trouble when she was stricken and died within five minutes of the doctor’s arrival. The doctor pronounced the trouble apoplexy which accounted for her sudden demise. The time for the funeral has not been set, as one of the sons is in the regular army, stationed at Vancouver, Wash., and he is expected to arrive the last of the week. Obituary and further notice next week.

Tina Davis was born in Madison county, Ind., March 25, 1857. Came to Iowa with her parents in 1863. Was married on Sept. 23, 1875, to James Hart. Came to Castalia twenty year ago. Died Dec. 12, 1910. The husband and three sons of whom one, Chester A. is in the service of his country, are left to mourn their loss. The funeral was held from the U. B. church Sunday, Dec. 18, the Rev. Tipton officiating. The body was interred in the pleasant View cemetery. The church was crowded with friends and neighbors to pay their last respects to a good friend and neighbor who will be greatly missed, but most of all will be missed in the home.
