Jacob Schmitt died Thursday. He was at church and received holy communion. On his way home he fell near the church. Fr. Hruska brought him home in his buggy. As they brought him into the house he breathed his last. He was 84 years old last 4th of July. Up to his death he worked at his trade as tinsmith. The funeral was held Saturday at the St. Wenceslaus church, Rev. Broz officiating, with interment at the cemetery adjoining. A large gathering of relatives and friends followed to pay their respects to the dead. Mr. Schmitt was a good man, beloved and esteemed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace. Mrs. Voll was prostrated at the sudden death of her father. Mr. Hennessy was called to attend her. She is better now.
