Chas. Grundeland was killed in the railroad yeads Monday night. He was acting as extra brakeman for Mike Grafand through confusion of signals was run over by an engine, One of his legs was badly crushed and the other was cut off. He also received internal injuries. He was taken immediately to the depot hotel where four doctors were in attendance. The accident happened at 8:30 o’clock and at 12:40 he died. His wife and daughter Viola, who were in Minnesota for an outing, were called.

Word was received here of the sudden death of Chas. Grundeland of Calmar, who is a son-in-law of Mr. O. Kapler.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Jan. 1871 and died July 4, 1910, He is buried in the Calmar Lutheran Cemetery.
