Death Follows Brief Illness.
Last Friday evening between eleven and twelve o’clock Wilfred Powers, older son of Thomas Powers, passed away at the family residence in the first ward after an illness of but a week from pneumonia. The deceased was born in Howard county and was thirty-six years of age. When about fifteen years old the family came to Decorah to make their home and Will has since spent the greater part of that time in Decorah. He was a young man of exemplary habits, and a dutiful son. Beside his father he is survived by one brother and four sisters, to whom the sympathy of many friends is extended. The funeral was held Monday morning at St. Benedict’s church and interment was made in the Catholic cemetery.

Transcriber’s Note: St. Benedict Cemetery shows this was J. Wilfred Powers. He was born in 1875.
