Death Lays Heavy Toll During the Week, Claiming Young and Old—Three Deaths from Tuberculosis.

SOPHIA HEGG.
Death entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Hegg of Springfield township Monday and claimed their oldest daughter, Miss Sophia. For some time Miss Hegg had been afflicted with tuberculosis but during the past year had experienced considerable improvement—enough to give rise to the belief that the inroads of the disease had been checked and that with good care she would live for many years. Recently she suffered an attack of the grip, and as is quite common the former difficulty became aggravated, causing death. The deceased attained her thirty-fifth year in October last and was a most estimable young lady. In their bereavement her parents will have the sympathy of many friends. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon, a short service at the house at one o’clock preceding service at the Washington Prairie church, Rev. Paul Koren officiating.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows her name as Caroline Sophia. She was born Oct. 21, 1874 and died Feb. 15, 1910. Her gravestone shows her name as Sofie.
