Sad news reach{ed} here Thursday evening of the death of Joseph Hoshek, who committed suicide by hanging himself in the barn. Mr. Hoshek lived with his mother and sister about four miles north of town. The cause of his act is a mystery to the community, as he was always a cheerful man and a good neighbor. The date of the funeral has not been decided upon, on account of distant relatives. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved family.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Jan. 20 1866 and died Jan. 13, 1910. He is buried in the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.
