Saturday evening, after a short illness, J. A. Giesing, one of Calmar’s oldest residents, passed away. The funeral services were held from the Catholic church Tuesday morning.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born July 19, 1842 – January 9. 1910. He is buried in the St. Aloysius Cemetery.
