After a lingering illness, Mrs. H..A. Thornton died at her home Monday afternoon, For the last few months she has been a great sufferer, until released by death. The funeral will occur from the U. B. church Thursday, Oct.{sic} 11, at 10:45 a. m. Obituary and further notice next week.

Mrs. H. A. Thornton died at her home four miles south of here, Nov. 9, 1909. Miss Elizabeth Heckman was born at West Phalia, Germany, Nov. 21, 1869. Came with her parents to America in 1883. Was married to Henry A. Thornton, Feb. 28, 1893. As a result of this union ten children were born, six of whom together with the husband, her father, two sisters and four brothers survive. The funeral services were held from the U. B. church here Thursday, Nov. 11, the Rev. Penn officiating. The bereaved family surely have the heartfelt sympathies of the entire community in their sad affliction. Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Thornton of Monona, Mrs. Rolla Thornton of Austin, Minn., Mrs. Conda Banks of Riceville were present to attend the funeral.
