By request the following biography was handed us for publication. Chauncey Chester Cornell, third son of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Cornell, was born on the homestead near Castalia, June 28, 1867, and departed this life at Bellingham, Wash., Sept. 21, 1909, aged 42 years, 2 months and 23 days. His education was received in the rural school and at Decorah Institute, and afterwards graduating from the Curtiss College of Minneapolis. He was employed there as a bookkeeper for two years, then emigrated to Washington, where he has since lived. He was respected by all who knew him for his honor and honesty in all his dealings and his great nobility of character. The funeral occurred from the residence of the deceased son’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Cornell, Sunday, Sept. 26, the Rev. Olmstead officiating. A large assemblage of neighbors and friends were present to pay their last respects to the deceased. The sorrowing friends have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.
