TOOK HIS OWN LIFE.
Harrison Webster Shot Himself Monday Afternoon at the Milwaukee Stock Yards.
The people of Decorah were shocked Monday afternoon to learn that Harrison Webster had taken his own life by shooting himself at the office at the C., M. & St. P. stockyards. The shot was heard by N. Schoonmaker and sons who found Mr. Webster a few minutes later and reported the matter to the police. Dr. Daubney and the police officials hurried to the scene of the tragedy, but Mr. Webster was breathing his last as they reached him. It is supposed that business matters were responsible for his rash act.
Mr. Webster was born in Burr Oak, Aug. 30, 1865, and was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Webster. Most of his life has been spent in Decorah, where he has followed the business of stock buying, being engaged with Frank Young until a few months ago when the firm which was known as Young, Paine & Co. was dissolved.
Mr. Webster was married about eleven years ago at Burr Oak to Ida Kimball. Beside his wife he is survived by three children, his mother, three sisters.—Mrs. J. C. Pagin of Washington Prairie, and Misses Nettie and Grace Webster of Minneapolis—and one brother, Walter Webster. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. Young officiating. Much sympathy is felt for the relatives in their bereavement. The deceased had many friends throughout the county who will sincerely regret his untimely death.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he died April 26, 1909. He is buried in Phelps Cemetery.,
