Deborah W. Goddard was born in the state of Maine in 1822; married Joseph G. Hawks Dec. 25, 1851; came to Hesper in the early sixties and passed to the better land on March 28, 1909. Mr. Hawks preceded her in 1902. Two sons Sewell G and Albin A., survive. “Aunt Deborah” and “Uncle Joseph” were life-long members of the Friends church and while they had strength were constant attendants at the church services, but for several years Mrs. Hawks had been in very poor health and was confined to the home most of the time. The funeral services will be held at the Friends church at 2 p. m. on the 31st, Re. H. C. Carter officiating.
