Robin was was born October 7, 1949 in Harmony, Minnesota to Warren and Jean (Robinson) Foltz. He graduated from the Mabel High School in 1967.

He married Lola Folkedahl on July 15, 1967. They lived in Hesper where they raised their two children.

He had various jobs including DECO Products, Gorham Milk Hauling for 22 years, and most recently truck driving for Bruenings and JT Trucking.

Robin enjoyed carpentry work, being outdoors, keeping up his yard and plants, feeding the birds, enjoying a few beverages with his many friends and neighbors that stopped by, and camping with his family.

On Wednesday, December 14, 2022, surrounded by his family, Robin passed away after a 4-year battle with cancer at his home in Hesper at the age of 73.

Robin will be dearly missed by his wife, Lola, of 55 years; son Rod (Lisa Morken) of Cresco, Iowa; and daughter Rhonda (Todd) Wyatt of Decorah, Iowa. He will also be missed by his 10 grandchildren Lindsay (Drew) Zahasky, Lacy (Tony) Troendle, Dylan (Alexis Sites) Foltz, Savannah (John) Busch, Kacey and Georgia Foltz, Evan and Ryan Hageman, Olivia and Mara Wyatt; 6 great grandchildren Gracelyn, Cooper, Hayden, and Sienna Zahasky, Lily, Lola, and baby Troendle.

Robin is also survived by his siblings Roly (Maryann) Foltz of Iowa City, Iowa; a sister Rosemary (Rick) Lane of Burr Oak, Iowa; in-laws Nanford (Karen Dehning) Folkedahl of Marengo, Iowa, and Odis Fossum of Mount Vernon, Iowa, Andrea Folkedahl of Hesper, Iowa, and Ross Crawford of Hesper, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Robin was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Rita Crawford, and many other special relatives that were dear to him

Funeral service will be 11 AM, Monday, December 19th at the Hesper Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Hesper Public Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-5 pm, Sunday, December 18th at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel and one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Hesper Lutheran Church or Winneshiek Medical Center Hospice.
