COUSE, HICKOX, TRACY, MOREY, BAHMLAR

Lewis L. Couse passed away early Monday morning, November 3, 1924, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Brad Hickox, at Omaha, Nebraska. He had been sick several weeks with a bad cold. He was over eighty-five years of age, and is survived by his one daughter of Omaha, his wife who makes her home in Cresco with her son, Roy Tracy, and one granddaughter of Omaha.

Mr. Couse had made his home in Omaha the past two years. He and his daughter visited in Decorah in September at the James Price home.

The remains of Mr. Couse arrived in Decorah last night and funeral services were held this morning at 10 o'clock at the Methodist church. Rev. Fred Fisher officiating. Burial was made in Phelps Cemetery.

Six World War veterans acted as pallbearers and six Civil war veterans were escorts. Mr. Couse had been a member of the Methodist church the past 57 years.

Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Tracy of Cresco, Mr. C. Morey, a Civil War veteran, and his daughter, Mrs. E. Bahmlar of Hazeleton, Iowa.

Mr. Couse was a veteran of the civil war. In early manhood he was a carpenter and later ran a grocery store in Decorah.
