Last Friday afternoon occurred the death of John Pavlovec at his home about two miles northeast of town. His untimely death was due to the injuries sustained by a fall off his wagon when driving home on the street late in the evening on Thursday last. He lost his consciousness which he regained no more. The funeral took place last Sunday afternoon at two o’clock in the St. Wenceslaus church, and was attended by a large number of people. Mr. Pavlovec being a member of M. W. A., the Spillville camp was present in body, also the Calmar and Decorah camps were represented. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, nine children, parents, and two brothers.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows his name as Jan. He was born in 1865 and died Oct. 15, 1908. He is buried in the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.
