Mr. Maley was a native of Ireland, and came to American with his parents when five years old He resided in Ohio until the early fifties when he moved to Wisconsin. After coming to Winneshiek county he took up his home in Bloomfield township where he resided until 1901, when he moved to Decorah. Mr. Maley was twice married. His first wife was Miss Sarah Ryan, whom he married in Oshkosh; his second wife was Miss Mary Crean, to whom he was married after coming to Iowa. He is survived by three sons and two daughters—John of West Superior, Thomas of Minneapolis and Morris of Harlem, Mont., Mrs. Waugh of Monona and Mrs. Muzzie with whom he has made his home during the latter years of his life. The funeral was held yes{t}erday at St. Benedict’s church and the remains were taken to Ossian for burial.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born June 24, 1825 and died Sept 13, 1909. He is buried in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery. His gravestone also appears to show he died in 1909; however, this is obviously an error.
