OBITUARIES.
MRS. SIGRE B. BUSNESS.
Mrs. Sigre B. Busness died last Friday night at the home of her son Henry on west Main street, aged about eighty-three years. Mrs. Busness’ maiden name was Sigre Nelson Bakke and she was born in Norway She came to America and to Winneshiek county in 1850, locating in Frankville townshpi, where she was married in 1853 to Torgrim Busness. The husband died several years ago. For the past five or six years Mrs. Busness has lived in Decorah. She is survived by one son and one daughter—Henry and Caroline. The latter was unable to be at the funeral, being ill at the hospital at LaCrosse. The funeral was held Monday, Rev. I. B. Torrison conducting a short service at the home after which the remains were taken to the Washington Prairie church where Rev. Paul Koren officiated.
The death of Mrs. Busness removed another of that band of pioneers who came from Norway and whose descendants now so largely represent them in Frankville, Glenwood and Springfield townships.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows her name as Sigrid and that she was born April 1825 and died Sept. 11, 1908. She is buried in Washington Prairie Lutheran Cemetery.
