Funeral services for Amund G. Blekeberg, 82, retired Winneshiek county farmer, will be conducted tomorrow (Wednesday, Nov. 15) at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. Wm. Thalacker and the Rev. Roger Hjelle at Madison Lutheran Church. The body will lie in state at the church from 12:30 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Olson-Fjelstul Funeral Home where arrangements are being made.

Mr. Blekeberg was born in Madison Township and had farmed near Ridgeway until 1965 when he moved to Cresco. He died November 11 at S. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Cresco following a lingering illness.

Pallbearers will be Clayton Herman, Vince Herman, LeRoy Phipps, Orville Hove, Elmer Ness and Orville Ness. Music will be furnished by Mrs. Roland Danielson, organist, and Mrs. Alton Hovden, soloist. Donna Blekeberg, Susan Blekeberg and Mrs. Clayton Herman are in charge of Floral memorials.

Mr. Blekeberg is survived by his wife, the former Julia Matyas; two daughters, Hazel Herman, Decorah, and Mrs. Orville (Marcella) Smorstad, Waterloo; two sons, Orrin Blekeberg and Wallace Blekeberg, both of Ridgeway, seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Nels Blekeberg, Decorah, and one sister, Mrs. Gotfreid (Randina) Ness, Tioga, N.D.

Amund Blekeberg was born January 10, 1890 in Madison Township. He attended Winneshiek County schools and Valders Business College of Decorah. He was married November 1916 to Olga Halverson. She died in January 1959 and he remarried in 1965.

Mr. Blekeberg was a member of Madison Lutheran Church and served as township assessor in Madison and Lincoln Townships for a number of years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
