Severson, Amund 1856 - 1937

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Amund Severson, 81, who died at Freeport Friday morning, the last day of the year.

Services were held at the Brandt Funeral Home and the Rev. T.A. Hoff conducted them. Mr. Severson was buried in the Lutheran Cemetery by the side of his sister.

Mr. Severson, a life-long resident of the county and Decorah, never married and was the last of a large family to die. During his long life he was always a hard worker and set his hand to a number of varying occupations. For a time he conducted a candy store, also a restaurant, too he worked at odd jobs.

He was born June 15, 1856 in Pleasant township and died within a few miles of his birthplace.
