Heber Robinson died this morning at 9 o’clock. We do not know any of the particulars.

- Mrs. George Rook came last Wednesday from Minneapolis to help care for her father Heber Robinson, in his last sickness.

AN UNUSUAL WEEK’S RECORD
Mrs. Wm. Beard, Thos. M. Hoyt, Heber Robinson, Andrew Williams were Pioneers—Miss Inez Schanck Dies at West Union.
HEBER ROBINSON
Heber Robinson was born Jan. 1, 1829, in Lower Canada, and died on April 14, at his home in Freeport, Iowa aged 70 years, 3 months and 13 days. When Mr. Robinson was six years old the family moved to Canada West, residing near Newcastle. In 1848 deceased moved to Illinois and two years later was married at Rockford to Cynthia Jane Page, who, with two sons and three daughters, survive. They are R. T. and A. B. Robinson of Freeport, Mrs. G. W. Drake of Los Angeles, Mrs. G. B. Rook and Mrs. J. C. Pearson of Minneapolis. One child died in infancy and another died in 1891 in South Dakota. In 1854 the family came to Iowa. Later they moved to Leroy and then to Spring Valley where, in January, 1862, Mr. Robinson enlisted in Co. B., 5th Minnesota. He served in the Indian war and later went south, serving until the close of the war. While he was in the service the family returned to Iowa and have since resided in Allamakee and Winneshiek counties. Mr. Robinson’s death was due to rheumatism and the infirmities of old age. The funeral was held on the 15th inst. At the Freeport M. E. church. Rev. W. E. Van Buren officiating, and the remains were interred in the Freeport cemetery.
Deceased was a man of physical vigor in his earlier days, one of the kind to whom a task never seemed difficult. He generally took a positive stand upon questions which pertained to the welfare of the nation and expressed his opinions openly, frankly. Withal he was a man of genial temperament.
The wife and children desire to express their thanks to all who assisted them during the illness of the deceased, and for many other kindnesses and words of sympathy.

Those outside of Freeport who attended the funeral of Heber Robinson here last Wednesday were Mrs. James Pearson, Mrs. George Rook and Guy Robinson from Minneapolis, Clark Robinson and wife of Monona, Mr. and Mrs. Leander Kirkland of Austin, Mrs. John Barthell and daughter Mrs. Myers of the G. A. R. from Decorah.
