Death of Former Decorian.
An item should have appeared in our issue of last week, recording the death of David Hislop of Mason City. Deceased was a brother of Thos. And Geo. Hislop of Decorah and Mrs. Samuel Glenn of Cresco, and for a number of years resided in Decorah. He was a shoemaker by trade and in the days when it was customary to have all the better grades of footwear made to order he was considered a very capable workman. He had been a resident of Mason City for many years, but of late was more or less of an invalid and several times suffered from illness that threatened death. His final release came on Feb. 29th, the funeral being held Monday, March 2d. He is survived by his wife, a son and daughter.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Dec. 28, 1847 and died Feb. 29, 1908. He is buried in the Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City, IA.
