On Wednesday Drs. Swezey and Emmons performed an operation on Mr. Price and drew two quarts and half a pint of water from around his heart, hoping it would relieve him; and it did for a few hours, after which he gradually failed until Friday afternoon, Nov. 29th, at 5:30, his life went out. Mr. Price has been a strong healthy man, more so than most men of his age, but since June last he has been affected with heart trouble. He will be greatly missed in the community and especially in the home, where his thoughtfulness for others’ comfort added to their pleasure. Daniel Price was born in in Sasquehanna county, Pa., May 17th, 1832. Came to Iowa in 1855 and settled in Pleasant township, this county, where in 1859 he was married to Miss Nancy Wise. They have been residents of Burr Oak for about 31 years. The wife is still left in feeble health, and the seven children, five sons and two daughters, were all with him to cheer his last hours. The funeral was held at the M. E. church on Sunday at 11 a. m., where was delivered a short discourse by Rev. Densmore. ‘Twas a pitiful sight to see those stalwart sons bear the casket containing the body of their father to the hearse. He was buried beside the son Edward, who preceded him a few years since. A very large congregation assembled to show their respect to our neighbor and friend. A beautiful chaplet of roses forming a large flower-piece was sent by Hose Co. No. 3 of Decorah.

Card of Thanks.
We, the undersigned, wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to the neighbors and friends for their sympathy and help in the sickness, death and burial of our dear husband and father.
