KILLED WHILE HUNTING.
Fowler Humphrey, Former Winneshiek Resident and Son-in-Law of Ogden Casterton and Wife.

Word was received this week by Mr. and Mrs. Ogden Casterton that their son-in-law J. F. (or Fowler) Humphrey of Englevale, N. D., was killed last Friday while deer hunting on the upper Missouri about seventy miles from his home. The details of his death are not known, but it is supposed that he was killed by the accidental discharge of a gun. He lived only a short time after being shot.
Mr. Humphrey was a brother of J. T. Humphrey, one of the well known residents of Hesper. He too resided in the neighborhood before going to North Dakota, but for many years he and his brother A. G. Humphrey have resided in Ransome county. Both are married to daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Casterton. Deceased was a popular man among his associates and his death will be deeply regretted by many acquaintances who knew him during his residence in this county.
