Brought Home for Burial.
On Friday last, after an illness of about a month, Mrs. Jos. Graf died at her home in Austin. An operation for tumor had been necessary and apparently she was doing as well as could be expected when unfavorable symptoms developed and the end followed soon after. Mrs. Graf was a daughter of Mrs. Sarah McIntosh, and her maiden name was Adda J. She was born in Madison township August 5, 1880, and came to Decorah to live when the family left the farm and took up their home here. She married Joseph Graf of Calmar July 27, 1901, and they made their home in Calmar until about two years ago when they went to Austin to live. Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter, her mother, brother Duncan and sister, Mrs. Frank Brunner, and a number of uncles, aunts and cousins. Deceased was a quiet, unassuming woman, loving and loyal to her home, her family and friends. The remains were brought to Decorah Sunday night for burial and the funeral was held Monday afternoon at the house, Rev. W. E. Van Buren officiating, and the remains were interred in Phelps cemetery.
