Joseph Henry Miller, retired farmer and life-long resident of the Festina area, died April 30 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. He had been ill two months.

Funeral services for Mr. Miller were held Saturday May 3 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church in Festina where he was a member. The Rev. Peter M. Graff and the Rev. Alphonse Elsbernd con-celebrated the Mass with the Rev. Joseph Vollmecke in the church sanctuary.

Burial was in the church cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Donald Scheidel, Lawrence Rothmeyer, Carl Hageman, Herbert Wenthold, Richard Kuennen and Roman Tekippe.

Funeral arrangements were made by French Funeral Home.

Mr. Miller is survived by one brother, Ervin Miller, of Festina and three sisters, Verena Bucheit and Teresa Miller and Laura Miller, all of Festina.

Joseph Henry Miller was born September 22, 1894 in Festina, the son of William and Veronica (Leibold) Miller. He attended St. Mary's School in Festina and was a veteran of World War I. Mr. Miller belonged to the Rosary Society of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church.

He had farmed in the Festina area until his retirement in 1974.

Schroeder, Mrs. Elizabeth Gehling, Mrs. Hugo Gerleman and daughters and Mr. and Mrs. Clem Gardner, Ossian; Mrs. Ida Elsbernd and Mrs. Loretta Elsberud, Calmar; the Rev. Alphonse Elsbernd, New Hampton; Mr. and Mrs. Geo Halstead and family and Mr. and Mrs. Carles Langreck, West Union and Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Blong, Ronald and David, St. Lucas.
