The funeral of Calvin Ferguson was held at the M. E. church last Saturday and many of his old neighbors showed their respect for one of the early settlers by their attendance. Mr. Ferguson was born in June, 1818, and came to live in Burr Oak about the year 1850. I don’t know of any person living who came here previous to that date.

Last week we mentioned that C. R. Ferguson was very sick. He died last Thursday, the fifth, and was buried at Burr Oak yesterday, the 8th. He was in his 90th year and had been very feeble for some time. He leaves a wife and many friends to mourn him.
