Mrs. John S. Losen, mother of Mrs. H. Chr. Thingvold and P. J. Losen was born at Hadalen, Norway, Sept. 15, 1818 and died at Hesper, Iowa, Sept. 14, 1906, within one day of completion of 88 years She came to American in 1851, and soon after was married to Mr. Losen and for more than fifty years has been a resident of Winneshiek Co. The remains were laid to rest in the United Lutheran church cemetery, Rev. Rasmussen officiating.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Maren. Her gravestone in Hesper Lutheran Cemetery shows she was born Sept. 5, 1818 and died Sept. 4, 1906.
