Death of an Aged Mother.
Although it occurred on the 1st inst., notice of the death of Mrs. Ruth C. Richardson, mother of Mrs. M. H. Montgomery of this city, did not come to our notice until last Friday. The event occurred at the home of another daughter in Minneapolis, and is thus reported in the Journal of that city:
Mrs. Ruth Richardson, formerly Ruth Chever Shepard, died at 6:30 a.m. today (Sept. 1) in the 87th year of her age, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William J. Hahn, 2000 Blaisdell avenue. She was born in Salem, Mass., Feb. 6, 1920. In 1838 she removed with her family to Kendall county, Illinois, where she was married, Nov. 21, 1843, to Charles Frederick Richardson, formerly of Salem, Mass., who died in 1853.
Mrs. Richardson leaves three daughters, Mrs. M. H. Montgomery of Decorah, Iowa, and Mrs. Edmund J. Phelps and Mrs. William J. Hahn of Minneapolis. Services will be held Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock from the home of Mrs. Hahn.
