Louis Heinberg Dies Suddenly.
Louis Heinberg died last night at eleven o’clock after an illness covering several months, rheumatism complicated with other ailments being the cause. Mr. Heinberg was seventy-one years old and a veteran of the 23d Wisconsin Infantry. He came to Decorah after the war and Winneshiek county has been his home ever since. He was married here thirty-two years ago July 5th and is survived by his wife, one son and five daughters. Although he had been ailing for many months. Mr. Heinberg was able to be up and about town that day but on returning home was compelled to take to his bed. He was a quiet, unassuming man, but to those who knew him intimately he was held in high esteem as a worthy citizen. The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday, afternoon, Col. Hughes Post participating in the services. As many of the veterans as can are requested to attend.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Aug. 16, 1835 and died July 11, 1906. He is buried in the Phelps Cemetery.
