Services For R. Manderfield
Funeral services for Ralph E. Manderfield were held Monday, Aug. 16 at 1:30 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville. The Rev. Carroll Brown officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Castalia.
Ralph Eugene Manderfield, son of Alex and Ella (Anderson) Manderfield, was born June 5, 1916 on the family farm in Winneshiek County, near Castalia, Iowa. He passed away Aug. 13 at University Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa.
He was baptized Aug. 11, 1921 at the Zion Lutheran Church and attended the rural schools in the area. He was employed as a farm laborer most of his life. In 1970 he moved to Waterloo and had been a resident of the Black Hawk County Care Center for the last ten years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, one in infancy, Mrs. Earl (Hazel) Russell, Elvie Moore, Mrs. Albert (Edna) Perry and Mrs. Wilfred (Jessie) Melcher.
Surviving are three nephews and three nieces, sixteen great nephews and nieces and sixteen great-great nephews and nieces.
