Samuel Fox was born in Green Briar county, West Virginia, April 20, 1843. Died at the home of his sister Mrs. Musser, Thursday, Feb. 1, 1906. He came to Iowa in 1876 where he has since resided. He is survived by four brothers and three sisters. He served in the War of the Rebellion. About two years ago he had a serious illness and as a last resort one of his limbs was amputated. He had never fully recovered and had been a sufferer ever since. The funeral occurred from the U.B . church Saturday Feb. 3rd, at 11 o’clock A. M., the Rev. Montgomery officiating. The body was interred in Pleasant Ciew{sic} cemetery.
