Mrs. Emily Miover died of acute Bright’s illness at her home at 330 Irving street, Waterloo, Iowa, Sunday afternoon, at 4:15, Jan. 28, after an illness of twelve days. Mrs. Miover, who was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Shattuck, was born in Frankville April 5, 1880, making her nearly 26 years old. At the age of fifteen she moved with her parents to Blue Springs Neb., where four years later she was united in marriage to Clyde Miover of that place. Four years ago she removed with her parents to to Waterloo where Mr. Miover who is a machinist, secured employment in the Illinois Central shops. Since her marriage she and her husband have made their home with her parents, as she could not bear to be separated from them. We learn that on the 17th ult. she was forced to take her bed through poor health. She called her relatives and friends around her, bidding them good-bye, requesting them to pray for her and cheerfully said she was ready to go. On Friday, the 26th she gave birth to a baby boy, but she never regained consciousness and at least in this life never realized that her child was born. Her brother Charles Shattuck of this place and Mr. Miover’s father and mother of Blue Springs, Neb., with her husband and parents watched at her bedside and all that loving hands or medical skill could accomplish was done but convulsion followed convulsion and it soon became apparent that the end was near. Emily was of a happy, cheerful disposition, scatterin sunshine wherever she went and her early death is deeply deplored here as well as in the city where she resided. Services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. H. G. Beeman. Her husband, father and mother and father-in-law E. K. Miover accompanied the remains here Wednesday where services were again held at the Presbyterian church in the afternoon, Rev. Weniger officiating, with interment in the village cemetery. Many beautiful flowers covered the casket sent by relatives and friends as a token of their love and esteem, and a large concourse followed her to her last resting place. Other relatives from away who were present at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Brawford of Estherville, I. K. Lower and wife of Decorah, Mrs. Shattuck and son of Waukon, and Gene Williams and wife of Washington Prairie. To the friends who assisted them and to all who by acts of kindly sympathy and words of condolence made their days of sadness less painful to bear the family desire to extend their sincere thanks.
