Frank Christopher, Decorah Native, Dies in California

Word has been received here of the death of Frank Christopher, a former Decorah native. Mr. Christopher died February 12 in a Veterans Hospital in Los Angeles, Calif.

The son of Martin and Anna Christopher, he was born December 18, 1889 in Decorah. He attended schools here and was a member of the Methodist Church where he was active in the church choir. Later he spent several years employed as a clerk with the Ben Bear Co.

He then moved to Minneapolis where for several years he operated a store on Lake Street, and later he ran another store in Mineral Springs, N.D. and also was a postmaster there.

From there he entered the army and served for several years in the European Theatre during the First World War. After his return, he resided in Los Angeles until his death Monday.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister. Surviving are a brother, Karl, living in Hesper, Ia. and several nieces and nephews in this area and in the west, mostly California.

Funeral services for Mr. Christopher are being held today (Thursday, Feb. 15) in Los Angeles.
