Berthold Moen Funeral Services Held Monday

Funeral services for Berthold D. Moen, of Decorah were held Monday, July 1 at Steine Funeral Home. Mr. Moen died June 28 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital at the age of 72. He was born in Glenwood Township and had lived there until 30 years ago when he moved to Decorah where he was employed as a plasterer.
Pastor Albert E. Houts conducted final rites, and burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Norman Moen, Norval Hagen, Julian Moe, Dale Thompson, Roger Vine and Dale Halverson. Mrs. Otto Ruen was organist, and arrangements were made by Steine Funeral Home.
Mr. Moen was born June 14, 1902, the son of Edward and Dena Moen. He attended rural schools and was a veteran of World War II.
Mr. Moen, who had never married, is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Dagny Plummedahl of Robbinsdale, Minn. and Mrs. Emma Baumders of Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
