Norris Williams, Life-long Decorah Resident Dies

Norris (Pat) Williams, a life long resident of Decorah, died December 22 at the Americana Nursing Home in Dubuque. He was 59. Before his illness, Mr. Williams had been a plumber and also was employed at the Coca-Cola Company.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 24 at Decorah Lutheran Church where Mr. Williams was a member. Pastor Alden H. Hovda conducted final rites, and the following men served as pallbearers: Walter Bender, Erling Rohm, Raymond Styve, Harlie Fagerlie, Walter Nesheim and Robert Frana. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. Otto Ruen was organist and accompanied the congregation as they sang hymns. Funeral arrangements were made by Steine Funeral Home.
Mr. Williams had never married. He is survived by three brothers, Bernard, Leon and Arnold Williams, all of Decorah and two sisters, Helen Smith and Selma Irvin, also of Decorah.
Norris Williams was born January 28, 1915, the son of Albert and Sophie Williams. He attended Decorah Public Schools and served overseas with the U.S. army as a staff sergeant in World War II. He was a member of the D.A.V.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lowell.
