Last Rites For Rocky Marcy, 19, Held in Decorah

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Steine Funeral Home in Decorah for Rocky Mark Marcy of Marion, Ia., 19 year old Marine who died November 17 at the V.A. Hospital in Iowa City. The young Marine had been ill approximately a year and died of cancer.
The Rev. David Ash conducted funeral services. Burial was in the Bluffton Cemetery with military rites at the grave site. Serving as pallbearers were Kenneth Olson, John Rekward, Ray Finholt, Tilman Ellingson, Richard Goettelman and Henry Stille. Mrs. Otto Ruen was organist.
Rocky Marcy is survived by his mother, Audrey Marcy of Marion; his grandmother, Mrs. Zoa Rekward of Decorah; three sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Butler, Mrs. Michael Jordan and Mrs. Robert Dotson, all of Marion, and a half sister, Mrs. Gavin McNamee of Aurora, Colo. His father, Virgil, who died August 1, 1973 was a former Decorah resident.
Rocky Mark Marcy was born August 27, 1955 in Cedar Rapids. He had lived most of his life in Marion where he attended the public schools. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
He joined the Marine Corps January 4, 1974.
