Suicide near Waucoma.
WAUCOMA, April 29—John Lichter an elderly German farmer living east of town, committed suicide by hanging. He had been ill for a long time, and yesterday as most of the family were at church, he escaped the notice of those in the house and went to the barn, where in a short time he was found hanging dead, despondency and pain having crazed his brain.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Nov. 26, 1835 and died April 28, 1895. He is buried in St. Luke’s Cemetery in St. Lucas, IA.
