A Fatal Accident
Fayette Co. Union:—Last. Saturday after dinner, as E. E. Waide and his son Williard{sic} were coming to town the young team they were driving took fright at the top of the hill west of the fair ground, the tongue came down and struck the wood work of the bridge that crosses Otter creek at the foot of the hill, throwing the two men from the wagon with great violence knocking them senseless; the old man dying from the effects of the injuries received therefrom on Sunday morning. Willard also received serious and painful injuries but none that will prove fatal. E. E. Waide who was a native of Vermont came to Fayette county in 1860 and was a highly honored citizen.
