Death of Henry Heively.
That old and well-known pioneer citizen of Decorah, Mr. Henry Heively, died at the State Hospital, Independence, yesterday morning, aged 83 years, the 17th of last December.
Mr. Heively was born in York, Pa., in 1813{sic}, and came to Decorah in the spring of 1850. For more than thirty of the intervening years he was an active business man, and as the owner and operator of the old Decorah mill, bore an important relation to the people of all the country roundabout. He was the father of a large family of children, of whom Mrs. F. W. Conover, of this city, Mrs. Wedgewood and Mrs. Gaston, of Beloit, Mrs. D. C. Moore, of Grafton, and Henry Heively, of Beloit, with their mother, survive him.
The remains will be brought to Decorah to-day for interment. Funeral direct from the Burlington train.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows the spelling as Heivly and that he is buried in Phelps Cemetery. His gravestone shows he was born in 1812 which would agree with his being 83 in Dec. 1895. The gravestone shows Father Heivly but the dates of birth and death agree with the above.
