Supposed Suicide at Clermont.
West Union. April 18.—Ferdinand Reuf, a German citizen, of Clermont, disappeared last Sunday evening about 8 o’clock. He had been sick for a week or more, and the attending physician
thought it would be necessary to send him to Independence. This seems to have come to the ears of Reuf, and fearing for his liberty he sought safety in flight. Soon after his disappearance searching parties were organized, and the river was dragged without success. This morning his body was discovered in the river a short distance from his home. He had committed suicide by drowning. We understand that Reuf had been in the asylum before. This makes the second suicide at Clermont within two weeks.See further details at http://iagenweb.org/boards/fayette/obituaries/index.cgi?review=485575
