CLAUDES B. KENNEDY.
Death has again visited our community, selecting for its mark a young man, CLAUDES BURROWS KENNEDY, who was born, in Decorah, April 8th, 1870. He grew to man’s estate in the town of his nativity, respected by all who knew him, for his upright, manly character. For several years Bright’s disease has been preying upon his system. In early winter he took a severe cold, the disease suddenly developed, and after a few weeks’ suffering, he passed away Feb. 13th, 1895{sic}.The funeral service was held at the home, one mile south of town, Sunday afternoon, Feb. 16th. He leaves a widowed mother, one brother and a sister to mourn the loss of a kind and loving son and brother. He has gone to meet the call, trusting in the name of Him who said: “I am the resurrection and the life.”

Transcriber’s Note: His gravestone in Phelps Cemetery shows his name as Claudius.
