MRS. GEORGE ZUCKMAYER.
This community was greatly shocked Monday morning, to hear of the death of Mrs. George Zuckmayer. Although she had been ill since last November, few of her friends realized that death was so near. She died at her home in Canoe township, Sunday evening, Feb. 16th, at 7:40 o’clock. Emma Louise Kelley was born In Borne, Jefferson county, Wis., June 29th, 1861, and came to Decorah with her parents in 1866. She united with the First Congregational church in 1876, and was an active and earnest member up to the time of her death. On Feb. 13th, 1879, she was united in marriage with Geo. Zuckmayer. She was a member of Decorah Chapter No. 73, Order Eastern Star, joining at the June meeting in 1894, and this society loses by her death one of its best members. Mrs. Zuckmayer leaves a husband, two daughters, mother and brother, and a large circle of friends to mourn her loss.
