MRS. RICHMAL POLLlTT.
Mrs. Pollitt was born at Elton, Mt. Berry, Lanchasire, England, August 16th, 1816. On the 27th of April, 1835, she was married to Mr. John Pollitt at Middleton, in Lancashire county, and they continued to reside In England until the spring of 1855, when they with their family of eight children came to America, stopping first at New Galena. In the fall they moved to Burr Oak township where a family home was secured. Prosperity attended them, and at his death eleven years ago, Mr. Pollitt left a sufficient competence to care for his widow in her declining years. Six years ago she moved to West Decorah, purchased the Gardner place, which has since been her home. She died on Thursday last the 13th

inst., after an illness of several weeks, in her 80th year. Of the eight children who survive her and all were present at her funeral. They are Mrs. A. D. Thomas and Wm. Pollitt, of West Decorah, Mrs. Martha Freeman, of Brookfield, Mo., Mrs. Eliza Pierce, of Burr Oak, James Pollitt, of Minneapolis, and Edmund Pollitt, of Cresco. The funeral service was held Sunday last at Burr Oak, Rev. W. D. James, of Decorah, officiating, and interment took place in the cemetery beside the graves of the husband and the two children who preceded her to the spirit land.

The funeral services of Mrs. John Pollitt were conducted from the M. E. church at 1 p. m. Sunday, Rev. W. D. James, of Decorah, officiating.
